Tips for the Best Scans

Scan the back too

Most card numbers are printed on the back. Adding the back takes accuracy from 91% to 94%.

Graded cards read best

The slab label spells out the year, set, player, and grade, so graded cards came back 100% right.

Use a clear photo

Low-resolution images were a little less accurate. Fill the frame with the card and avoid glare.

Give the year a quick look

Year is the detail most often off, at 83%. A quick check before you save keeps it right.

Confirm parallels

Parallel colors can be subtle on camera. They came back right 87% of the time, so double-check them.
